On our second day in the Park, make an acclimatization walk from 4 to 5 hours to Plaza Francia, at 4.200 m, bordering the Inferior Horcones River, being able to witness the transformation process of water to fresh snow on the high peaks and different glaciar states, converting to a turbulent and abundant river. At the end of this walk, we enjoy the beautiful scenery that the Southern wall of the Aconcagua show us, with almost 3.000 m of vertical, hanging glaciars, channels and avalanches. It is a vision of the Aconcagua of extaordinary magnificence that you will never forget. In the afternoon, we return to Confluence for dinner and rest.

At Plaza de Mulas we rest and use the day for acclimatization. This is a good opportunity to get to know the Camp, take a shower and explore the area. We get together with the guide, do a medical check up, reorganize and review the equipment, prepare the loads, the fuel and food for transportation for the next day. This is the moment to make friends with the climbers from other parts of the world and to meet the people that work at the camps.

We transport equipment, to keep the backpacks as light as posible and mostly to be able to gradually adapt to the height. The equipment loads for group necessities will be transported by the experimented team of carriers of INKA Expeditions. During the load transport to high altitude camps 1 and 2, we reach a 5.400 m level. This is a very hard day, of about 6 hours or walking, where we ascend to 1.000 m over easy ground. At this stage, we start enjoying the real beauty of the height, finding ourselves over the surrounding peaks. It is very important to test each of our organism adaptation to the height and favor the evolution of our acclimatization.

We destine this day to rest, recover our energy with an abundant and appropiate meal and hidration and we relax, making the last adjustments on our physical and mental preparation, for the final and definite ascent. The next days we progress towards the summit. During dinner, we eliminate our doubts and analyze with the Guide, step by step, the ascent strategies for the next days.

After disassembling the camp and after breakfast, we ascend up to 5400 m, with a regulated walk, step by step, with a rhythm marked by the Guide, who will control our response to effort in high altitude. This walk is around 4 hours long, to reach the Camp 2, Nido de Condores, a place located over a large leveled surface, from where you can appreciate and photograph wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and the indescribable sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. We have dinner and rest.

It takes around 4 hours to ascend to Camp 3, Berlin, with its spectacular platform over the North edge, from where we can observe unforgettable views of the highest peaks of the Central Andes. This is where we assemble the last camp, the Guide checks each member of the group individually and gives his final recommendations. We also plan the final strategy for the last ascent day, to assure success.

The day begins at 5:00 am. It is the most demanding day of our expedition. We climb the Northern Edge up to the Independence Refuge (6500 m). This is normally when we see the first sun rays. We ascend to "Portezuelo del Viento", where the winds are very strong, even on relatively calm days. From there we cross the superior part of the West face and climb "La Canaleta", a 300 m channel that takes us to the summit's edge. After approximately an hour, we go through the "Filo del Guanaco", that takes us to the summit. From the "Filo del Guanaco" we can directly observe under our feet the West Wall of the Aconcagua, considered one of the highest walls in the world. This is the same wall that we observed a few days before, from its base. We reach the summit, with an undescriabable feeling of total satisfaction, at 6962 m, where the prize is waiting for us, a 360° view and personal overcoming feelings that you can only understand if you are there. After sharing these moments of accomplishment and emotion with your friends, we descend to Berlin.

We arrange for two possible summit days to be available, to guarantee the best chance to reach the top. We only need a small chance of good weather to make it.

We return from Camp 3 to Base Camp, to enjoy a delicious hot dinner and to celebrate our goal, with our expedition partners who have become our friends.

This day we prepare our personal equipment to descend by mule to Penitentes. A 7 hour walk takes us to Horcones, where we pick up the INKA Expedition vehicles that will take us to Penitentes. This is where we meet with our equipment and take a private vehicle back to Mendoza city. After arriving to the hotel, we have a farewell dinner, with all kinds of anecdotes to tell to, toasts and a night for friendship. The Guide hands out your respective summit certificate.

The day you leave, an INKA Expeditions vehicle transports you to the Airport or Bus Terminal, caring for your safety, and comfort up to the last minute.
